FAS Workforce Planning: Additional Notifications This Week

Dear colleagues,

Tomorrow, staff in the Division of Social Science and Office of Physical Resources and Planning (OPRP) will learn how their roles are positioned within the new administrative model.

As in earlier waves, every staff member in these areas whose role is affected by the transition will have a notification conversation that is guided by deep respect and care. These are colleagues whose talents and dedication have strengthened the FAS in countless ways. We recognize the significance of these decisions—for the individuals directly affected, for their colleagues, and for our community as a whole. Once conversations are complete in Division of Social Science, you will hear from DeanCutler, and in OPRP, you will hear from Zak Gingo.

As a reminder, as notification conversations conclude, we are making a phased transition to the new administrative services model. Some staff whose positions are affected may be asked to continue fulfilling their current roles during a standard 60-day transition period to help support operational continuity as we begin the academic year. Others may be asked to stay engaged for a shorter period to help transfer knowledge and responsibilities. These decisions will be made by local leadership based on the needs of the work. Unless you are told otherwise, faculty and staff should continue to work with your current administrative contacts, who will have access to additional resources and rapid-response support to ensure your needs are met with as little disruption as possible.

We know this period of uncertainty and ongoing change continues to cause significant stress in our community, and we are grateful for the patience, professionalism, and care you have shown throughout this transition. As we move through the final waves of notification, we remain committed to proceeding as thoughtfully and efficiently as possible, while continuing to honor our legal and labor obligations.

Please remember that resources are available to support you now and throughout this transition and can be found on the
