Share Your Ideas: Task Force on Workforce Planning
Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the FAS Task Force on Workforce Planning, I am writing to share an update on our efforts to reimagine the FAS administrative structure to better support our teaching and research mission while also strengthening the FAS’s long-term sustainability.
Over the coming months, the Task Force will explore opportunities to leverage technology, streamline business processes and practices, and foster greater collaboration across departments and units. The FAS has engaged a consultancy with deep expertise in organizational design and higher education to support the Task Force in this important work.
As part of our process, the Task Force is meeting with staff and faculty across the FAS, Harvard, and peer institutions to gather a broad range of perspectives. Your input is critical. That’s why we are launching an online “Ideas Box”, where staff, faculty, and researchers can anonymously share suggestions, concerns, or innovative ideas. We welcome your candid feedback. The “Ideas Box” will remain open through September 15.
The Task Force is taking a thoughtful and deliberate approach to this work over the course of the academic year. We look forward to providing a progress update, including emerging themes and initial recommendations, in the fall.
Thank you for contributing to this important conversation and for your continued partnership.
Best,
Nina
