Warren Petrofsky

Prior to his appointment as Dean of Administration and Finance for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Warren Petrofsky most recently served as Associate Dean of Administration and Chief Administrative Officer in Cornell University’s College of Arts & Sciences, where he partnered with academic leadership to align resources with institutional priorities and support long-term financial sustainability.

In that role, Warren oversaw a broad administrative portfolio that included finance and budgeting, capital planning, human resources, information technology and data analytics, research administration, and auxiliary operations. His work emphasized integrating strategy with execution, strengthening administrative infrastructure, and enabling data-informed decision-making in support of teaching and research.

Previously, at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Arts & Sciences, Warren held senior leadership roles with responsibility for major capital initiatives and the redesign of facilities and computing organizations. Across institutions, he has built strong partnerships with faculty, chairs, and staff to translate institutional strategy into effective operational outcomes.

Warren earned an A.B. in Classics from the University of Pennsylvania, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, an M.A. in Classics from Brown University, and an MBA from the Wharton School.
