Valerie Beilenson

Valerie Beilenson joined the Office of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in February 2022. As the deputy chief of staff to the FAS Dean, she supports the design and execution of strategic priorities, facilitates collaboration across academic divisions and serves as a key liaison representing the dean’s initiatives both within FAS and across the university.  She came to the FAS from Year Up, a youth workforce development organization where she was a Director of Strategy & Operations. Prior to Year Up she spent eight years at Harvard, initially as an Admissions Officer in the Undergraduate Admissions Office and then as part of the Office of the Provost, helping to set up HarvardX. Beilenson holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College in History and Science and a master’s degree in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
