Office of Physical Resources and Planning

About Our Team

The Office of Physical Resources and Planning (OPRP) provides comprehensive facilities management to the FAS campus, ensuring that the buildings, grounds, and associated infrastructure provide a safe, reliable, comfortable, and efficient physical environment to support the FAS mission of research, teaching, and student life. This includes landscape design, space planning, managing capital renewal construction projects, investing in critical campus infrastructure, and maintaining the day-to-day operations of the FAS campus.

Our Core Services

  • Vetting, hiring, and managing contractors such as plumbers, electricians, and roofers
  • Overseeing security guards and security systems, including the emergency "blue light" phones across campus
  • Planning, designing, and executing construction projects, ranging from minor office renovations to constructing new buildings
  • Managing the systems that monitor and control heating, ventilation, and cooling equipment across all FAS buildings, working toward the FAS/University goal of a fossil fuel-free campus
  • Working with academic departments and other units to optimize how they use space to achieve their goals
