#  Financial Stewardship Update

Dear colleagues,

By now you have seen the [message](https://www.harvard.edu/president/news/2025/financial-stewardship-update/?utm_source=Unknown+List&utm_campaign=9554f1445f-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2025_07_15_11_26&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_-9554f1445f-) from University leadership about the deep and compounding financial pressures we are facing. These challenges are significant, and they will require careful, sustained work across the institution in the months ahead.

As you know, in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, we have already begun tackling these challenges through our budget planning, research continuity efforts, near-term financial interventions, and a longer-term administrative review. As we receive revised budget guidance from the University, we will communicate additional updates.

While this moment is difficult, our early action, shared sense of purpose, and deep commitment to our teaching and research mission serve us well. I am grateful to all of you for your partnership and resilience.
