Supports technology-enhanced teaching and learning in FAS via: multimedia teaching materials (academic web pages, interactive software and custom courseware, digital video, podcasts), technology and classroom support for a variety of pedagogical models (e.g. lecture demonstrations, online tools for collaboration, mobile devices for activity-based learning, learning space design), visualization and simulation tools (3D, virtual worlds, biocomputation).
Evaluating, patenting and licensing inventions and discoveries made by faculty. Establishing start up ventures and building value around Harvard innovations. Building sponsored research collaborations with industry around faculty-initiated applied research projects.
Harvard University’s central faculty affairs office. Oversees initial faculty appointments, from search authorization to accepted offer; cross-university convening, junior faculty mentoring and development, support for teaching, work/family balance, and institutional climate; faculty review, retention, and promotion. Also includes University Grants for Enabling Research.
