The Harvard Group for New Music brings together the community of graduate composers at Harvard University. Weekly colloquia provide a platform for critical discussion with presentations from current students as well as guest speakers.

Marisse Cato is a graduate student in Creative Practice and Critical Inquiry in the Harvard Department of Music. A London-born composer/performer, researcher and interdisciplinary artist, Cato completed her undergraduate degree in Music at the University of Cambridge, she receives standalone commissions as a composer and curates work with artists across disciplines as a sound artist and violinist. Her scholarship explores listening and aesthetics in contemporary and experimental art and the life and work of Julius Eastman.
