Writers must submit four (4) hard copies and an electronic copy (MS Word or PDF preferred).

To ensure a fair judging process, the writer's name or undergraduate institution may not appear anywhere on the essay itself. The title must appear on the first page of the essay.

All essays must be accompanied by a cover sheet, which should include the following information:

• the writer's name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and undergraduate institution;
• the title of the essay;
• a signed statement verifying that the submission is an original essay by the student writer and that all citations are complete and correct;
• the faculty sponsor's co-signature of this statement, along with his or her name, title, department, institution, office phone number, and e-mail address.
