Harvard Track sweeps Yale and (partial) Princeton Meet

The Harvard track and field teams swept their indoor meet on Saturday afternoon, the men knocking off Yale, 92.5-43.5 and the women taking the H-Y-P meet, recording 61 points to Princeton's 58 and Yale's 40.

Headlining the men's meet was the domination of the Crimson men on the track, sweeping all the individual races. Yales only wins on the afternoon came by virtue of victories in the 4x400 and 4x880 relays. Junior Christopher Lambert (London, England) shattered his own school record in the 60 meter dash for the second straight home meet, crossing the line in a time of 6.73. Seven other runners won individual titles, and three captured field events to help the Crimson cruise to victory.

On the women's side, the Crimson dominated in the field events, paced by a double win in the shot put and weight throw by co-captain Natalie Grant and in the long and triple jumps by Helena Ronner. Co-captain Carrie McGraw (shown right) won the 400 meters for the cause as well.

The Crimson will be idle next week in preparation for the Heptagonal Championships, which will be held at Cornell on February 24-25.
