Frank Haggerty, class of 1968, directs a staff which coaches both women and men. Not only are these people experts in their area but are also involved with the total success of our teams. Our coaches have the background and experience to challenge and teach athletes of many different levels. We have coached Olympians and NCAA, Heptagonal, and Ivy champions. Our satisfaction comes not just from the realization of the athletic potential. We look at the choice to participate as an integral part of the students total life at Harvard and are ready to support the highest of their aspirations both in and beyond the athletic realm.

Our intention is to provide the proper complement to Harvard's academic offering, namely a productive, supportive, and educational atmosphere for cross country and track and field participants. We want winning teams and record breakers, yet we want our students to have more than good performances when they graduate. Academic success, cherished friendships, broadened perspectives, and mature competitive attitudes are hallmarks of our graduates. Our performers develop their potential within the broader context of their educational decisions. since 1979, Harvard has produced 40 track and cross country All Americans. While not all Harvard competitors reach such levels, they all do attain what is perhaps the most valuable collegiate degree in the world.
