It is (now) possible to white-list messages matching certain criteria so that they are never sent to the Spam folder.
In Gmail, go to settings (at the top), the filters, and the Create a new filter.
In the >From field, enter 'fas.harvard.edu' <mailto:'@fas.harvard.edu'> , or 'harvard.edu' <mailto:'@harvard.edu'>  if you wish (the latter will also whitelist HCS and the mailman lists you are subscribed to).
Click "next step", and then check "Never send it to Spam". Click "Create Filter".
