HOW DO I RESERVE SPACE AT THE SOCH?

HOW DO I SUBMIT ID NUMBERS FOR ACCESS TO MY OFFICE?

SOCH staff will program office doors based on the list provided which must be signed by the president of the organization (or equivalent). Students with authorized access to individual offices must be registered members of that organization as well as registered students of Harvard College. If a student is no longer a member of an organization, or access to an office needs to be changed, it is the organization's responsibility to submit a new Office Access Form with a new list of authorized students to the Manager of SOCH. Regardless of changes throughout the term, atthe start of each academic year, student organizations must submit a new Office Access Form.

HOW DO I RESERVE AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT?

There is a variety of audio/visual equipment available for your use.

Equipment may be reserved only for use in the SOCH. At this time, there is no charge for reserving this equipment. If damage or loss occurs, the student organization will be charged to fix or replace equipment at full market value. All equipment is on a first come, first served basis.

A $100 dollar refundable deposit is due for each piece of equipment rented and must accompany the Equipment Reservation Form.

Please make all checks payable to the Student Organization Center at Hilles. Equipment reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance of your meeting or event.

HOW DO I PLAN AN EVENT AT THE SOCH?

The Student Organization Center at Hilles (SOCH) is an ideal location for hosting student organization events and conferences. It is the only place at the College that offers space for 150 people as well as smaller meeting rooms for workshops in the same building. All registered Harvard College student organizations are welcome to host meetings and events at the SOCH.

Meetings

If your organization is planning a meeting, rehearsal or other regular business related activity, please reserve a meeting room, the performance hall or seminar room using the online form. See Room Reservation Process for web link. Floor plans detailing the sizes and capacities of the spaces available can also be found online. You will receive a confirmation that the time and space you have requested is available. Please allow 3-5 days for requests to be processed.

Events

If your organization is considering hosting a conference, dinner, social gathering or other large event, please contact the SOCH to discuss the event with a member of the staff. SOCH staff is available as a resource to assist you with the planning of your event.

Late night events and those anticipating large turnouts may require a SOCH staff person to be on site for the event. Please plan well in advance to ensure that the date you are requesting can be accommodated.
