Preparation of Abstracts
American Delegation
XV International Congress of Slavists
The abstract and the written paper must be in complementary languages-one
in a Slavic language, the other in English, French, or German. In the typical
case, the written paper will be in English and the abstract in a Slavic
language. The abstract will be reproduced by the Macedonian Committee of
Slavists in a one-volume compilation of abstracts that will be distributed at
the Congress. For this reason, it is crucial that you follow to the letter
all formatting instructions below.
- Margins.
Margins should be 1.25 in. on the left, and 1.00 in. on the right, top,
and bottom.
- Spacing. The
abstract (and the abstract alone, not the paper) should be single-spaced.
- Font size. The
text should be produced in 12-point font size.
- Justification.
The text should be left-justified without right justification.
- Indention. The
first line of each paragraph should be indented .40 in.
- Layout. On
successive lines, please adhere to the following layout:
- center the title
(most commonly English, French, or German)
- center the
equivalent complementary title (most commonly Slavic)
- center the author's
name
- center the
institutional affiliation
- skip a line
- begin the body of
the abstract, left-justified. References, if necessary, should be
incorporated into the narrative, i.e. no footnotes.
Three copies of the abstract should be sent no later than April 15,
2011, to:
Prof. Michael S. Flier,
Chairman
American Committee of Slavists
