Faculty Research Support—...is an annually appointed committee whose prime function is to review proposals requesting awards for research grants from three restricted funds available to the Faculty of Arts and Sciences: the Clark, Cooke, and Tozier Funds

Research Policy—...is primarily responsible for advising the Dean on matters of research policy and administration, specifically those regarding institutional grants or program grants cutting across departmental lines and involving large resources.

Use of Animals in Research—...is responsible for monitoring the care and use of animals in research/teaching within the facilities of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences., and is specifically comprised of nine members knowledgeable in the care and use of animals, one of whom must be a veterinarian and one from outside of the Harvard Community.

Use of Human Subjects in Research—...functions as the Institutional Review Board (IRB)* and its membership is such as to satisfy the requirements of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) for such boards.
