Professor Michael Yoshino received his Ph.D. in Management from Stanford University and joined the Harvard Business School faculty in 1971. His fields of research and teaching include competitive strategy, corporate strategy, global strategy and management, and Japanese management. At the Harvard Business School, Professor Yoshino has taught in the Advanced Management Program, MBA program, International Senior Management Program, and Program for Management Development. He serves as Director of Research and chairs the General Management unit area. Professor Yoshino has written six books and numerous articles and papers. His latest book, Strategic Alliances: An Entrepreneurial Approach to Globalization, was published by the Harvard Business School Press in 1995. Professor Yoshino has consulted for major corporations in the field of global strategy and management and has taught in executive programs for senior management for two dozen major corporations. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Bureau of Economic Research, the leading economics research organization in the United States.
