1. ESTR, the Electronic Submission, Tracking & Reporting system for the Main Campus IRB, CUHS Is Now Live!

2. DEADLINE CLARIFICATION: Only studies that are deemed to have more than minimal risk to human subjects or are sensitive in any way go to a convened or full Committee meeting (the meeting dates and deadlines are listed below on our website). The majority of the applications we receive are reviewed by our research officers on a daily basis. Many people are under the impression that all protocols are due on the deadline date, but it is only a small percentage that actually go to full committee. If in doubt, please call or email any of the staff listed below.

3. Update on exempt research. Certain types of simple research qualify for an exemption determination - what to do if you think your research qualifies

The Committee on the Use of Human Subjects accepts CITI or NIH certification. Certification is valid for three years. After completing the training online, download or save a copy of the certificate for your records. Please submit a copy to cuhs@fas.harvard.edu with your application.
