AAHRPP Announcement
CUHS Seeks Accreditation for University Area Human Research Protection Program (HRPP)
Through the Committee on the Use of Human Subjects, its Institutional Review Board, the University Area Human Research Protection Program has applied for accreditation from the Association for Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP). AAHRPP was founded in 2001 with the purpose of providing universities and other research institutions objective, thorough evaluations of their human research protection programs, in order to ensure that they perform at levels that surpass federal standards.
AAHRPP's mission is to accredit "high-quality human research protection programs in order to promote excellent, ethically sound research. AAHRPP encourages effective, efficient, and innovative systems of protection for human research participants."
Accreditation begins with systematic self-assessment and culminates in detailed independent evaluation of our program, and CUHS is committed to applying what it learns as the foundation for continual improvement of its services.
Our application and renewal forms have been revised, and new sample consent and information sheet forms have been added to the site. In the near future, after consultation with investigators and other users, the site will be expanded, restructured, and relaunched.
