Located in Plymouth Vermont, Echo Lake is nestled between Weaver Hill and Salt Ash Mountain. It is one of five lakes within the Okemo Valley lakes region. Echo Lake is home to Plymouth State park, a popular destination for day campers, boaters, hikers and fishermen. It’s primary use is recreation including fishing, boating and swimming. Echo Lake covers 104 acres and its watershed area is 16,816 acreas. The deepest part of the lake is 91 feet deep with an average depth of 30 feet. Echo Lake is categorized as mesotrophic which means it contains a moderate quantity of nutrients and is moderately productive in terms of aquatic animal and plant life. The lake is fed by Buffalo Brook, Kingdom Brook and Lake Amherst. It is stocked annually with fish by Vermont Fish and Wildlife. Tree and plant life are present around the Echo Lake shore; including, sugar maple, poplar, aspen, elderberry, mulberry, white birch, and pine. There are an abundance of wildlife including water fowl, moose, dear, beaver and otter. Homes exist along most of the shoreline of this beautiful lake.
