THE KANYAWARA CHIMPANZEES

The Kanyawara chimp files Learn about the individuals

	Imoso At the top of the hierarchy since 1998 this is probably one of the most violent chimps at Kanyawara. AKA 'the wife beater of Kibale' (according to Time Magazine).
	Outamba A female in her mid-twenties she gave yet another birth in 2005. Back in 1999 she endured a brutal attack from Imoso, the first chimp seen to use a 'weapon' to beat up another chimp.
	Auntie Rose At an estimated age of around 60, this might be the oldest chimp in the wild ever known.
	Kakama Playing with dolls as a juvenile, this healthy male, now at 21, is said to be a possible future contender for the alpha position in the community.
