Individual Funding

During term-time, Public Service and Work-Study Grants are available to work-study eligible students interested in working at a non-profit organization off-campus. Work-study awards are not provided to students working at partisan, political, or religious organizations. Visit the 3rd floor of PBH to learn about programs and organizations that regularly enlist work-study student employees. Download the term-time Work-Study application.

For students who are interested in earning work-study funding during term-time, the Harvard Reads and Counts program offers students the opportunity to tutor children in reading and math. America Reads tutors serve preschool through elementary age children, while America Counts tutors serve elementary through ninth grade students.

The Center for Public Interest Careers (CPIC) at Harvard connects Harvard College students and recent graduates with paid positions in public interest organizations across the United States. By creating internships, fellowships, forums, workshops, and coordinating and mobilizing alumni/ae and campus resources, CPIC seeks to become a model for supporting the development of a new generation of graduates working for the public interest.

Harvard provides summer funding through the programs listed below. Off-campus job listings are also posted in the Student Employment Office. To view these listings, visit: http://www.seo.harvard.edu/fwsp/. You also may want to view internships posted through our Weekly Public Service Update.
