Instructions on how to convert Harvard's grades to 4.0 Scale
- Convert each letter grade to numbers, according to the chart below.
- Multiply each number by 1.0 if a full-course grade, or by 0.5 if half-course grade.
- Total these numbers.
- Total the number of courses by counting each full-course as 1 and each half-course as .5.
- Divide the sum of the grades (from Step 3) by this total number of full- and half-courses (for which letter grades were
received - from Step 4).
- The result is the GPA on a 4.0 scale.
