Trying to decide in which of Canada's exciting provinces you would like to spend your semester? For starters, this map might help you get a better sense of the terrain.

And below are some university links, as well as links to some interesting features within and around the universities:

Québec
Looking to become fluent in French without having to cross the Atlantic? Québec is fantastically francophone and just up the road, and the exciting and surprisingly European-feeling city of Montréal has some excellent universities to offer. Two of these are:
l'Université de Montreal, where all courses are taught through the medium of French (click here for more information on student exchange programs), and
McGill University (Montreal) courses offered in French and English; full load 15 McGill credits (5 courses)

Nova Scotia
Home to more than just smoked salmon (although that's definitely a plus), Nova Scotia's 'blend of dramatic seas, scenic lands, Celtic music and friendly people shape a maritime culture like no other.'
Dalhousie University is located in Halifax.
Acadia University is located in Wolfville.

New Brunswick
The province of New Brunswick directly borders Maine, is one of Canada's three maritime provinces, and is connected to Prine Edward Island by the Confederation Bridge. NB's Bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world. New Brunswick is home to Mt. Allison University, located in Sackville.

Newfoundland and Labrador
N & L is Canada's youngest province. Its capital city is St. John's, which, according to the city's website, "bounds with spectacular ocean, scenery, wonderful urban parks, charming streetscapes and significant historical sites. Visitors quickly discover why St. John's calls itself 'The City of Legends'".
Memorial University of Newfoundland
MUN is among the top 5 Canadian institutions for comprehensive departmental offerings- click here for a full listing.

Ontario
Looking to study in a place with great sports and cuisine, in a diverse but largely English-speaking environment? Ontario, in additon to being home to 1/3 of Canada's total population, and holding about 1/3 of the world's total volume of fresh water in its 250,000 lakes, is also home to some excellent universities, including:

University of Toronto and York University, both located in Toronto. For information for visiting students, click here.

Queen's University, located in Kingston. For a list of academic study options, by subject, click here, or here, for more on exciting research being done at Queen's and how you can be a part of it. And how about athletics? For more on athletics and recreation, go here.

McMaster University, located in Hamilton. The International Students' page might help you get started. Among the interesting areas of study available at this university is Indigenous Studies.
