(Kennedy, Knox, Sheldon and Lurcy Traveling Fellowships were established to support a full academic year of research or study abroad for Harvard graduate students. Fellowships were $22,000 for the 2008-09 academic year, and are likely to be similar for the 2009-10 academic year.)

(These summer awards are for summer language study and/or preliminary dissertation fieldwork and research, $3000. They are ordinarily for students in the summer following the G1, G2, or G3 year, and are intended for students still at an early stage in the development of the dissertation - prior to having an approved prospectus.)

Graduate Society Fellowships: Term Time Awards for Dissertation Research, Harvard Merit Fellowships:

NELC Departmental Deadline is Tuesday, January 20, 2009

(The purpose of these awards is to allow students to devote a greater portion of their time to research, fieldwork, and writing than would otherwise be possible. Students must have passed generals and have an approved dissertation prospectus at the time of nomination, or be scheduled to have approval by the time the award begins. The maximum grant is a single term award at $10,915.)
