Sayed Elsisi teaches Modern Standard Arabic (M.S.A) and Egyptian colloquial. He comes to Harvard from AUC ( American University in Cairo ), in witch he taught Arabic Language and Arabic Literature in CASA program. He studied in Cairo University , where he received his BA , MA and where he is completing his Ph.D in Modern Arabic Literature. He is the editorial assistant of "Alif", the journal of comparative poetics.

Sayed Elsisi specializes in Modern Arabic Poetry. He wrote and published several studies on the Arabic novel and poetry in books and literary periodicals. He is currently working on a project focusing on the poetic characteristics of contemporary prose poetry. He taught several levels of Modern standard Arabic, Egyptian Colloquial Arabic, and Arabic Literature (Modern and Classical).
