JOIN US FOR THE NCC ANNUAL OPEN MEETING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND, COLLEGE PARK Friday, April 5th from 2:00 to 3:45 pm. followed by THE GORDON W. PRANGE COLLECTION TOUR and LECTURES

NCC plans to have its Annual Open Meeting held in conjunction with the meetings of the Association for Asian Studies and the Council on East Asian Libraries on Friday, April 5th, 2002 from 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm. The Open Meeting is hosted by the University of Maryland and will take place in the Special Events Room, McKeldin Library.

THE GORDON W. PRANGE COLLECTION TOUR and LECTURES

After the NCC Open Meeting, there also will be a program to introduce participants to the Gordon W. Prange Collection, including a tour of the collection itself, as well as a tour of an exhibition of Prange materials currently on display at the University of Maryland. In addition, invited speakers, Dr. Marlene Mayo and Mr. Albert L. Seligmann, will give talks on the Prange Collection and the Occupation Period.

Transportation between the University of Maryland and the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel and also from the Library of Congress (where RLIN's meetings will take place) will be provided for registered participants. A light lunch will also be served for registered participants.

12:00	Bus 1 departs Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, 24th Street Entrance
12:10-12:45	Bus 2 Pickups participants at Marriott, 24th Street Entrance followed by  pickup at the Library of Congress, Madison Building between 1st and 2nd  Str.
1:00–2:00	Lunch, Special Event Room, McKeldin Library, University of Maryland
1:30-	2 groups from the first group go to the Tour
2:00-3:45	NCC Open Meeting, Special Events Room
3:45	Participants attending only the NCC Meeting return to Washington D.C. via Metro
3:45-4:45	“Discover the Gordon W. Prange Collection” A behind-the-scenes tour for those pre-registered, “Rebuilding a Nation: Japan in the Immediate postwar Years, 1945-1949”; aexhibit of  Prange Collection materials, and An introduction to reference tools for the Prange magazine and newspaper collections, video presentation. East Asian Collection Tour
4:45-5:45	Speakers discuss the Prange Collection and the Occupation Period. Dr. Marlene Mayo and Mr. Albert Seligmann (Special Event Room)
