Visit to the National Institute of Informatics (NII)

We were warmly welcomed with a lunch reception, which enabled us to interact with librarians at the National Institute of Informatics. Kazunobu Konishi delivered a presentation highlighting the NII's development initiatives and services; Akira Miyazawa briefly discussed the involvement of NII with foreign organizations.

Tomoko Saito gave us an introduction to NACSIS-CAT/ILL (Webcat Plus).

Lastly, Ayano Hattori demonstrated the various features of GeNii (NII Academic Contents Portal): aggregation of CiNii, Webcat Plus (this will be the only version available as of March 2006), Kaken, and NII DBR. The session concluded with hands-on practice of Webcat Plus's associative search function. See also 2004 summary.
