Welcome to the Harvard University Diversity in Life Sciences website.

Our objective is the faciliation and development of new ways to nuture a community of students in the Life Sciences with varied backgrounds and experience.

We believe that a career in the life science should be a real and exciting possibility for everybody, and that the demographics of scientists should reflect those of the wider population.   In our efforts to increase diversity in the Life Sciences at Harvard, we aim to showcase activities, funding sources, and other resources available to help female and underrepresented minority students.  

Because the success of any program depends upon the support of the entire scientific community, we seek to inform faculty about effective practices for enhancing diversity.   Additionally, we highlight Harvard's outreach programs, which are aimed at both the pre-college and college level and engage minority students in life sciences research experiences.
