Details: The American Chemical Society awards scholarships to minority students with financial need who are interested in studying a chemically related subject.

NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program

Details: The NIH Undergraduate Scholarship programs offers up to four years of financial support for college tuition and expenses. In exchange, recipients must participate in a ten-week summer lab experience at the NIH, and must work in an NIH lab after graduation for the same number of years as the duration of scholarship.

American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) Internships

Details: Ten-week summer internships with a variety of federal agencies, including NASA, NSF, and the CDC.

Introduction to Cancer Research Careers at the National Cancer Institute

Details: A two-step application for internships at the National Cancer Institute. First, students are selected for a two-day visit to NCI in Bethesda, MD, where they will tour the campus, attend workshops, and interview for internships. Students may then be offered summer internships, and post-baccalaureates may be offered 1-2 year internships.

Award: Initial award includes transportation to/from Bethesda and hotel accommodations. If selected for internship, award covers stipend, travel, and housing.

Microbiology Undergraduate Research Fellowship (MURF), sponsored by the American Society of Microbiology (ASM)

Students conduct summer research in microbiology with an ASM faculty member, either at their home institution or at another university. Expenses are also covered for travel to the ASM general meeting and the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS).

Rohm and Haas Awards
