The funding opportunities presented here are aimed at women, students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, or underrepresented minorities (URM). Underrepresented minorities are defined as the racial and ethic populations (African Americans/Blacks, Hispanics/Latinos/as, Native Americans or Alaskan Natives, and Pacific Islanders) that are underrepresented in the math and science professions relative to their numbers in the general population.
