Eliot House at Harvard University; Furniture Design & Woodworking class.
Tuesday & Thursday:
7:30 - 9:30 p.m., at Eliot House Woodworking shop.
Yoav Liberman, a designer and woodworker, is offering a woodworking class at the Eliot House wood shop. Yoav will be offering two classes this year:
Beginners and Advanced Woodworking. Both classes are tailored and designed for Harvard University students. In previous years, this course has culminated in an art exhibition as part of Harvard's Arts First events.
Each class will meet for a 2-hour weekly meeting at 7:30PM. In addition, students can work on their projects at their own leisure in the wood shop. (provided they have passed Yoav's safety orientation)
Beginners class: For students with little or no prior woodworking experience. In this class students will be introduced to the basic tools and techniques of woodworking. During the class, students will build a small bench or a storage trunk. Yoav will provide plans for design, or students can come up with their own.
Advanced class: For students with prior knowledge in furniture design and woodworking.
Each student will design and build an original project or will restore an old furniture.
If you are considering turning an idea into a work of art or if you just want a change of pace from work, this course is for you!
