Artist's Philosophy My aesthetic approach: the fusion of old and new to create the timeless. I tap into the memories and experiences resonating from the found object. I look past flaws to mine the object’s rich functional and structural potential, challenging myself to bring these strengths to the fore. My training as an architect plays an influential role in the re-design process. The shapes, forms and proportions of my restored objects suggest order. This marriage of form and function is my muse. I strive to create pieces which are most beautiful when they are being used. My work engages and emphasizes the increasingly porous borderline between utility and art, furniture and sculpture. |
