Final
Exam
Arrangements

The Examination Coordinator for the Extension School says:

Dear Student,

This message is being sent to every student who is registered in an Extension School course that may be taken on-line. Please check your course syllabus for the dates and times of your exams. Read this message carefully if your course has at least one timed and proctored in-class exam. You may disregard this email if your course DOES NOT have any in-class exams.

Many distance education courses have in-class hour, midterm, and final exams. Students whose primary residence throughout the term is in the six-state New England area (CT, ME, MA, NH, RI, and VT) are expected to take their exams on campus as scheduled. Students should call Academic Services, (617) 495-0977, if they have any questions about this policy. Students who do not live in New England arrange to take their exams at alternate locations by finding a qualified proctor and submitting the online proctored examination form no later than one week before the on-campus exam date. To enter proctor information online, click on login located in the upper right-hand corner of the Extension School website, www.extension.harvard.edu. Click on Distance Education and Distance Education Exam Proctor Information. The proctor must be a teacher, professor, or administrator in a nearby secondary school, college, university, or testing center. Proctors cannot be family members, friends, or co-workers. http://www.extension.harvard.edu

The
Big
Idea

CSCI-E215 may be taken over the Internet. Students doing so will:

  1. Watch streaming videos of the lectures given in Cambridge
  2. Read the same texts and on-line material as local students
  3. Use email to discuss ideas and questions with teachers and other students
  4. Turn in homework electronically, received marked and graded response electronically.
  5. Take a proctored, timed, paper and pencil final exam
