Hausman Archive News

The Hausman Archives Project began with a bequest to the Korea Institute in 1997 of the private papers and artifacts of James Hausman, US Army Military Advisor to Korea, 1946-48. After a decade of cataloguing by Harvard graduate and undergraduate students and visiting scholars under the supervision of Professor Carter Eckert, the materials are now housed in their permanent destination in the Korean Collection at the Harvard-Yenching Library. The Hausman Archives currently consists of three parts:
(1) Original Bequest: Private Papers and Artifacts of James Hausman, received from Jim and Gayle Hausman
(2) Papers collected by Professor Myoung-Lim Park at the National Archives, Washington, D.C.
(3) Korean War documents, received from Professor Allan Millett, Ohio State University
