MTS Equipment Rental Rates
Hourly or Daily Charges for Harvard University Borrowers:
- There is a half-hour minimum rental rate with the ability to bill in quarter-hour increments after the first half-hour.
- Rental is charged by the day for more than 5 hours use.
- Equipment borrowed for the day must be returned by no later than 10 a.m. on the following day or additional charges begin.
- FAS official student groups (those listed with Harvard College's Student Life) requesting just equipment must pay with cash or check in advance or at the time of equipment pick-up and may not be billed. Student groups requesting both equipment and technician assistance may request to be billed but must pay within 48 hours of the completion of the service and then will receive a 50% discount on the equipment charges only (labor charges cannot be discounted). Student groups failing to pay fees on-time will forfeit the discount on equipment charges and may be refused service in the future.
- FAS official student groups also have access to a limited amount of free audio reinforcement and video projection equipment. Contact the main office at mtsequip@fas.harvard.edu for information on how to book this equipment. This equipment often books far in advance.
Daily Charges for Non-Harvard Borrowers:
- Rental is charged by the half-day for up to four hours use.
- Rental is charged by the full-day for more than 4 hours use.
- Equipment borrowed for the day must be returned by no later than 10 a.m. on the following day or additional charges begin.
Multi-day Use of MTS Equipment:
- Three-day use of equipment will be charged at two times the daily rate.
- Five-day use of equipment will be charged at three times the daily rate.
- Seven-day use of equipment will be charged at four times the daily rate.
- Weekends are charged as one "day" of use, provided the equipment is picked up after 3:00 p.m. Friday and returned before 9:00 a.m. Monday (or 9:00 a.m. Tuesday if Monday is a Harvard University official holiday).
- Special rates can be negotiated for equipment that will be kept for periods longer than one month and this must be arranged in advance of the equipment pick-up by calling MTS at 617-495-9460.
