Harvard Women in Chemistry is excited to announce the success of the 1st annual Boston Women in Chemistry Symposium (WInCS), held at Harvard University on September 24, 2011.

Please look here for photos from the event!

The symposium showcased the excellent work of female graduate students and post-docs from the greater Boston area and provided an opportunity for students to meet and mingle with students from other departments. Throughout the day, students participated in poster sessions and 20-minute talks of featured research.

The symposium also featured a seminar by Professor Xiaowei Zhuang, Ph.D. from Harvard and a keynote lecture by Jennifer Feeley, Ph.D. from ExxonMobil. Lunch and a wine and cheese reception following the last event of the day allowed for ample time to mingle with new colleagues!

We are pleased to announce the awards for best talk and poster:

Best Talk: Erika Vieira

Best Poster: Katrien Brak

Best Poster: Katie Ellis

Great job everyone! We would like to congratulate all of the presenters for their wonderful work. We hope to see everyone again next year!

Welcome!

We would like to thank for their  generous support:
