Postdoctoral Fellowship Application

Applications must include:
  1. A completed application form.
  2. A curriculum vitae.
  3. A detailed statement of the research project (1,000-3,000 words) that provides a description of what the applicant proposes to do during the fellowship year.
  4. One chapter-or article-length writing sample (no longer than 40 pages).
  5. Two course proposals for undergraduate seminars. Proposals should include a brief description and a provisional syllabus for a 12-14 week seminar that will meet once weekly for 2 hours.
  6. Three letters of recommendation. Recommendations may be those included in the applicant's placement dossier, but they must specifically address the proposed research project.
  7. A $60.00 application fee by check payable to "Harvard University."

Completed applications must be postmarked by January 15, 2008.

Eligibility

Applicants must have received the Ph.D. after May 2005. Applicants who have not yet received the Ph.D. must include a letter of confirmation from the committee chair or department stating that Ph.D. will be received in or before June 2008.

There are no U.S. citizenship requirements for these fellowships. The Humanities Center welcomes applications from non-U.S. nationals.
