If you are installing an Acrobat reader for the first time, the following may be of use to you:
At the Adobe home page Scroll to the viewer suitable for your machine type and click on it.
At the dialogue box which then pops up, click on "save to disk".
At the "Save As..." dialogue box, if you wish to save the reader to the default directory, click "ok". You will then be returned to the Adobe Reader Home Page.
Scroll to your specific machine type and follow the installation instructions.
The first time you click on a pdf file in your browser, a dialogue box will pop up.
Click on "Configure a viewer". The configured reader is now resident
on your computer. From now on, any pdf file can be read simply by clicking on it.
