Lillian Wei joined the Harvard China Fund in March, 2008 as the Assistant Director of the Harvard
China Fund. She reports to the HCF executive director and is currently stationed at the Harvard Shanghai Office. Ms. Wei opened the Harvard Shanghai Office, and was the key manager in
launching the inaugural Harvard China Student Internship Program. Since the official opening of
the Harvard Shanghai Office, Ms. Wei has been responsible for the daily operation of the Office, carrying out the university and HCF’s key China initiatives, expanding and maintaining Harvard’s relationship with Chinese Universities and Chinese government, and supporting faculty members
and university officials visiting China. She oversees the planning, recruiting, and delivering of the
Harvard China Student Internship Program, which sent 20 students to 9 Companies in China in
2008, and 45 students to 23 Companies in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan in 2009.
Ms. Wei is a seasoned professional with strong skills in project management and rich experience in consulting and customer service. Over the course of more than 10 years, she worked for multinational companies in the US such as Wyeth, Biogen-IDEC, BOSE, and Wang Labs, in roles ranging from program manager to principal consultant. With her experience in and knowledge of both Eastern and Western business cultures, Ms. Wei brings effective communication, strong interpersonal skills and team spirit to her position.
Ms. Wei is an MBA graduate of the University of Massachusetts, and she also received her Bachelor degree from East China University of Science and Technology.

Jennifer Downing, Development and Program Manager

Jennifer Downing joined the Harvard China Fund in November 2007 as the Development and Program Manager. She coordinates China-related resources across the University, manages the Harvard China Faculty Grant Program, oversees publicity materials (including the Harvard China Fund website), and organizes various events for the Harvard China Advisory Group and Harvard China Fund Faculty Steering Committee. In addition, she has been tasked with identifying potential funding sources to support the activities of the Harvard China Fund. Previously, Jennifer spent three years in the Harvard Alumni Association planning their annual Global Series conferences, and three years in Harvard’s University Development Office helping fundraise for the Asia Center and other international priorities.
She received her master’s in Education Policy and Management from Harvard’s Graduate of Education in 2006, and her bachelor’s in East Asian Studies from Wellesley College in 2001. Jennifer spent the summer of 2000 living in Hong Kong, where she worked as a public relations intern for ORBIS, a non-profit medical organization dedicated to eradicating blindness worldwide.
An avid traveler and cook, Jennifer spends her free time competing for the Cambridge Masters Swim Team and performing on her clarinet with Harvard’s Dudley House Orchestra. She also loves to read and explore the impressive museum and restaurant scene around Boston.

Jamie Boeri Romine, Administrative Assistant

Jamie Romine joined the Harvard China Fund in May 2008 as the Administrative Assistant.
She provides timely administrative support to the Harvard China Fund team in managing the
Harvard China Student Internship Program and serving as the liaison to the Harvard Shanghai
Office. She coordinates with the Harvard China Office(s) to provide services for visiting Harvard
faculty, students, and staff.
Jamie attended Smith College and majored in Psychology and Religion & Biblical Literature where
she graduated in 2007 with high honors. Prior to joining the Harvard China Fund, Jamie gained
various work experience as a student intern in television and medical research, and volunteering
for charity organizations.
