Description: I have been an intern for the foundation since sophomore year. Being a part of the Harvard Foundation, I have been able to pursue my interests in advancing the exchange of intercultural knowledge and experience so that the campus becomes an appreciative atmosphere where difference can be embraced. Outside of the Harvard Foundation, I have been the Historian of the Harvard/Radcliffe RAZA, Social Chair of Latinas Unidas and Off-campus writer for the Latino Student Guide La Vida. Also, I have been dancing with the Candela Salsa Dance Troupe since freshman year. As an anthropology concentrator, I have pursued my research interest in medical anthropology focusing on Mexican traditional medicine. I have worked studying the diet and nutrition patterns of oldest human living remains in Oaxaca, México through isotope analysis. I also research the medicinal properties of herbs and plants native to the Southern Peninsula of Mexico. Currently, I am working in the Sierra Norte de Puebla and studying the midwifery practices of the Nahua communities.
