What is the FOP Steering Committee?
FOP is run by a Steering Committee, a group that includes the director and several undergraduates. The Steering Committee is responsible for selecting and training new leaders, planning and organizing trips, and running the office during the year. Members of the Steering Committee also serve as resources for the FOP community and act as ambassadors of FOP to the university. The Committee makes decisions by a process of consensus, rather than majority rule, to ensure that everyone is treated with respect and that all members have a voice in the decision process. FOP operates under the aegis of the Freshmen Dean's Office.
