Hi FAP! As a former FAPper and three-time FAP Proctor (go team music, go!) I'm psyched to be back with FAP in an administrative role. I'm a Harvard alum with a degree in Literature and since graduation I've been working as a musical theatre composer/lyricist, cranking out about two shows a year. My work has been published and I've had productions across NY, MA and CT, but nothing compares to the John Harvard Rap we wrote in FAP! In addition to my role with FAP, I'm the resident songwriter and drama tutor in Adams House (one of the twelve upper class Houses) Email me at corriel@fas.harvard.edu.

2009 Proctors

Jack Cutmore-Scott

Hi FAP! I'm Jack, and I'm the most useful, resourceful and friendly proctor on the market! Now that I'm back for my third year on the FAP proctor team, I feel that I can offer many insightful words of wisdom to absolutely everyone about absolutely everything. Although this is certainly untrue, I would love to try anyway. And so, please please PLEASE email me if you would like to know anything about anything - I guess that my 'specialty' is the theatre - yes 're', not 'er'. No idea what 'theater' is - and would love to chat about anything from playwriting to acting to directing to producing and beyond. I can also explain to you why the rest of the Proctor team are all ridiculously good-looking and I'm not (quotas), and why they let me on the team three years ago, even though I didn't speak American (again, quotas). I'm now bilingual though, so don't worry. So, email me. I can let you in on all the deep dark secrets of the Harvard Arts scene, as well as all the dirt on my fellow proctors. They're a craaaazzzyyyy lot, I'l tell you that much for free....... what more could you want from a proctor?? p.s. Puppy not included.

Aaron Fallon

Aaron Christian Olson Fallon is a junior in the class of 2011 hailing from the hood of Shaker Heights, Ohio (often abbreviated as "shake-town"). Aaron is concentrating in History and Literature with a secondary in Environmental Science and Public Policy. But more importantly, he is absolutely tickled to be proctoring for a second year and anxiously awaits FAP 15. On campus he plays flute in the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra as well as being the orchestras social chair and graphic designer. He has been performing and competing in Irish dancing for the past fifteen years and has no plans of ever stopping (but don't ask him to do a jig at a party - it really angers him). Along with two pals he founded the first and only Irish dancing organization on campus - no matter how important you think you're art form is, you might have to petition the people in University Hall to recognize it. If you ever need a pick-me-up, he can take you to Cafe Gato Rojo where he works as a barista. Though he is a musician and a dancer, he was in the VES thread during his stint in FAP 13, so don't have any inhibitions about choosing a thread. Also, don't write bios in the third person, it's unnecessarily difficult.

Claire Eccles

FAP! My name is Claire Eccles, and I can't wait to meet you all! As a former FAPper, I am SO excited to be a proctor for team dance this year! I am originally from a town in Maryland called Chevy Chase. Pretty amusing... but, actually, the town was not named after the actor. It was named after the Ballad of Chevy Chase, which describes a battle that took place between the Scottish and the British in the 14th century. Basically, I grew up right outside of Washington, DC. Anyway, I am a junior at Harvard and a Psychology concentrator. On campus, I dance with (and am the publicity coordinator of) the Harvard-Radcliffe Modern Dance Company (HRMDC). I am also a classroom director for CityStep, a program devoted to teaching dance to kids in local schools. I LOVE both of these organizations so much! Please ask me about them. And let me know if you are interested in choreography! I have choreographed for HRMDC, the Harvard-Radcliffe Dramatic Club, and the Harvard-Radcliffe Gilbert and Sullivan Players. I should also mention that I am a HUGE fan of dance improvisation, particularly when it occurs in public, outdoor places. Aside from dance and choreography, I tutor in Chelsea High School with a program called Recent Immigrant Term-time Enrichment (RITE), and I work in the Lab for Developmental Studies. This past spring, I did intramural crew and learned how to row! Looking forward to seeing you soon! In the meantime, email me at ceeccles@gmail.com!

Jonathan Finn-Gamino

Hey FAP! I'm Jonathan (mainly known as "JFG," "Finn," and occasionally "Steve") and am a rising sophomore in Adams house. I come from Northern California (Bay Area) and am into all forms of art, but mainly have dabbled in the visual arts and theatre since coming to Harvard. In addition to thrift stores, eBay, and silkscreening, I'm really into music, so if you ever have a few hours to spare and want a comprehensive, extensive history of the emergence and evolution of punk rock from '77 till present, or if you'd like to swap records or check out a show, I'm you're go to guy. I FAPped last year and loved it, and am beyond excited to be returning as a proctor. Feel free to ask me any questions about Harvard arts, student life, classes, or anything at all.

Derek Flanzraich

Yo-- I'm Derek, a rising senior in Currier house concentrating in Government. Well, really I more or less concentrate in extracurriculars. Since my freshman year, I've been involved in acapella, theater, and television on campus (among other things)-- so you could say I've been around the arts block. I sang with the Harvard Callbacks (http://www.harvardcallbacks.com/) for nearly a couple years and acted in my Freshman Musical ("Ask Me Anything"), Adelphoe, Henry V, and now Hamlet. My big thing on campus, however, has been starting and running On Harvard Time (http://www.OnHarvardTime.com), Harvard's comedy news show. Now an organization of 40+ students, it's an amazing way to get access to try anything to do with making television, writing comedy, and having a ton of fun making an awesome nearly-weekly 7-minute show. I've put my heart and soul into that-- and it's paid off (The Crimson calls it Harvard's "most popular show"). Check it out! Finally, I recently became president of HUTV, or Harvard Undergraduate Television (http://www.HUTVNetwork.com), the umbrella organization for student-producted media here on campus. We've engineered a total re-branding and re-launching of the network-- you'll see. So yeah, somehow manage to do all that-- and have a ton of other stuff on my plate including a "social" life, playing IM basketball, and more. I love this place-- and would love to answer any and all questions you've got about anything-- whether it be film here on campus or just how cold it gets (I'm from Miami, Florida, so trust me I can tell you all about it). FAPPPPP!

Tali Friedman

Hey FAP! After suffering a two-year FAP withdrawl since being a FAPper myself, I'm finally returning as one-half of proctor team Drama with my blockmate, Jack. I'm a senior English major from DC (well, Bethesda), living in the best house on campus, Dunster. I do a ton of theater on campus and I'm on the business staff of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals. Feel free to email me with questions about anything aforementioned. I am also available as a British-American translator; after living with Jack for a second summer in a row, I have become an expert on Haribo, Shakespeare, pizza, Will Ferrell movies, bad science cores, moleskins, catering weddings, being lost on golf courses in the rain, and singing Grease at diners. talisa.friedman@gmail.com. Gchat me!

Esther Hsiang

Hi FAP! My name is Esther and I am a small tiny Asian girl. I also attend Harvard and am a rising sophomore in Eliot House. As a previous FAPper, I'm incredibly excited to be a proctor for Team Dance for FAP 15! Although I play several instruments and love drawing and painting, I am most heavily involved in dance at Harvard. Talk to me if you're interested in knowing about the Crimson Dance Team, the Harvard-Radcliffe Modern Dance Company, or the OFA dance program. Also talk to me if you want to know more about the Harvard Global Health and AIDS Coalition, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Chinese Students Association, the Office, John Krasinski, the beach, Florida, cheesecake, and shiny things. I'd love for messages of any kind sent to ehsiang@fas.harvard.edu. Also, I never saw snow before I came to Harvard.

Alex Lipton

Hey FAP! My name is Alex, and I'm super excited to be on Team Music! I hail from Rockville Centre, New York, and like to write all different types of tunes. I wrote the music for my year's Freshman Musical and for Hasty Pudding Theatricals 161: Acropolis Now. At home, I write tunes for and play guitar in a band called Show Me Action. We toured for the past three summers from New Hampshire to Kentucky, and have played over a hundred shows since our first gig on a basketall court. I also play a lot of cello and jazz guitar in small chamber groups. I absolutely love hearing all types of music, from Estonian folk songs to thrash metal, though I ironically don't own an ipod. So, I'm counting on you to show me some of your favorite songs! Bring me anything and everything! You can email me at AlexBLipton@gmail.com. Look forward to hearing from you!

Megan O'Keefe

Hey FAP! I'm so excited to return for my third year with the awesome Freshman Arts Program! I'm a junior English concentrator and on the production and performance ends of the Harvard Radcliffe Dramatic Club. I've also worked with Harvard Radcliffe Summer Theatre, the HRDC board, and the Harvard Pops. Outside of theater, I work at the Harvard Law Review and volunteer with kids through REACH - and have made an almost full-time activity of going to random yoga/dance classes and restaurants in the square! So please e-mail me anytime to talk all things FAP, theater, and English (or Jane Austen, Ben Folds, and Top Chef!)

Julia Rooney

Hey FAP! My name is Julia and I'm a proud Mather House sophomore and VES concentrator. This will be my first time participating in FAP (I did dorm crew freshman fall), so I can't wait to learn all the ins and outs with you guys as we go along. During the year, I sing acappella with the Harvard LowKeys and am co-director on the Art Board for Tuesday Magazine, an arts and writing publication. Other than that, I spend most of my time painting at the Carpenter Center, an awesome building full of amazing people! Basically, I love singing, messing around on the piano and painting/drawing/doing visual things in genera...and when I'm not actually doing it, I like being around people who like doing it. Other random things about me: I love all things Italian, I'm from NYC, I'm a vegetarian, I love running/athletic things, I'm pretty messy, I loovee cereal and nothing makes me happier than the rain. Email me with questions about arts or not arts-related things, whenever. Look forward to meeting you all!

Sara Stern

Dearest FAP, I am SO excited to be returning for my second year of FAP! I was a FAPper last year in the wonderful FAP 14, and now I'm a rising sophomore in Lowell house (the one with the big beautiful bell tower, so you know where to find me). I do a range of arts activities, from studio art and multimedia pieces to dabbling in some set design for theater. I'm also involved in the Harvard Arts Society and the Harvard Student Art Show (an exhibition and sale). I enjoy experimenting with random materials (especially when the experimentation involves glue guns and almost anything translucent). I also love tango (expressive improvisational movement and sound amazes me). But most importantly, I'm obsessed with FAP (which means YOU), so feel free to email me at sarajstern@gmail.com. I enjoy stream of consciousness emails, and all messages in general.

Samantha Yu

Yooooo FAP! I'm Samm and I am SO pumped to be returning for my second year as a FAP proctor. I'm a junior from Weston, MA concentrating in Sociology with a secondary in East Asian Studies. I live in Cabot House at the quad, which is unfortunate, but whatever I'm not bitter...I get to spend a lovely week with you all in the yard! Random things about me: I wear 0 prescription glasses for fun because I think they're cool. My favorite food is sushi. I'm four feet and eleven and three quarters of an inch tall. I dance in a Boston hip-hop company called WRUSH. I'm a neat freak. I also direct another Boston hip-hop company called Hip Hop ConnXion. Aaron Fallon and I used to date. Esther Hsiang is my sister. One of my eyelids has a crease while the other doesn't. I have a yorkie named Dexter who I am obsessed with. I subscribe to Real Simple Magazine. I spend a lot of time on YouTube. My favorite cartoon character is Madeline. I try to keep it real sho 'nuff no doubt homes... but I swear I'm a nerd at heart. Feel free to email me or add me on gchat at Samantha.kuewon.yu@gmail.com (UGH every logical, shorter, combination of my name/initials was taken, okay?) because, for real, I cannot wait to meet you all!
