ABOUT THE TAIWAN STUDIES WORKSHOP
The Taiwan Studies Workshop is a long-running program of the
John K. Fairbank Center at Harvard University. It is currently
directed by Steven M. Goldstein, Sophia Smith Professor of Government
at Smith College.
The Workshop was founded to promote and publish new research
on Taiwan's history, culture, society, law, politics, and economics.
It brings together, on a monthly basis, scholars from eight
universities, including faculty and graduate students, diplomats
as well as politicians, historians, anthropologists, political
scientists and economists.
The Workshop is funded by a grant from the Chiang Ching-kuo
Foundation and is sponsored at Harvard by the Fairbank Center.
