Stability of Compressible Flows
The goal of the project on the stability of compressible flows is to understand the stability of mixed acoustic vorticity waves. We find that in highly sheared flows the shear and vorticity modes mix and transient growth is enhanced although dissipation places a limit on the growth that can be obtained.
