Physical: Taking care of yourself through the practice of good health habits. This includes nutrition, exercise, sleep, and illness prevention and management.
Social: Connecting with others and sustaining relationships with your family and friends.
Emotional: Feeling good about yourself and feeling positive about life.
Spiritual: Finding meaning and purpose in your life.
Environmental: Making sure the spaces you spend time in are sufficient for your comfort and productivity.
Vocational: Feeling fulfilled in your work and community.
Intellectual: Being involved in activities that you find mentally challenging and rewarding.
Although there is no “one size fits all” prescription for wellness, keep in mind that overall wellness requires maintaining a balance of different components: physical, social, emotional, spiritual, environmental, vocational, and intellectual factors. Ways of finding your own balance can shift over time. Be flexible, but be honest with yourself about what wellness entails for you.
