The Publication of The Remains of Koguryŏ in South Korea
National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage (國立文化財硏究所, http://www.nricp.go.kr/) published "남한의 고구려유적"(The Remains of Koguryŏ in South Korea). This report, which was initially planned in 2005 to deal with the Northeast Project of People's Republic of China and call people's attention to Koguryŏ in Korea, contains data on 92 sites either constructed by Koguryŏ or showing elements of Koguryŏ culture. In the concrete, it has the spatial information such as location, topography, and road map, field research information, survey drawings, and excavation information, if unearthed, of each site. The compilers of the report expect it will be instrumental in further research and preservation of Koguryŏ sites as well as in the comparative studies with other Koguryŏ remains found in China and North Korea .(Trans.
