Dudley House Jazz Bands 2009-2010

For several years, Dudley House has been hosting two jazz bands.
The amazing 18-musician Big Band is playing three programs this year. The December concert Rhapsody in Blue will feature evergreen Gershwin standards revisited by Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton, Sammy Nestico, and more. In the great American tradition, the Spring Swing will get you dance until the end of the night! Finally, our April A Jazz Night in Paris will delight you with Franck Sinatra's "I love Paris", Mediterranean notes, jazzy chanson française, and - of course - Count Basie's "April in Paris".
The Jazz Combo is a wonderful place for creative jazz. All musicians are invited to bring new compositions or to suggest new versions of standards. The repertoire evolves according to the personalities of the participants. With a basis of saxophones & piano, bass, drums, all instruments are welcome - yes, all instruments, including flute, guitar, accordion, Ableton Live, cello, and the one you are playing!

New musicians & singers are welcome!

If you are interested as a singer, musician, or composer, please e-mail me and let's meet one of these days at Cafˇ Gato Rojo!
