CHORAL MUSIC AT DUDLEY HOUSE

 

 THE DUDLEY CHOIR

The Dudley Choir is a 35-40 voice choir directed by Dudley Music Fellow Karola Obermueller. The Choir is made up primarily of students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences but welcomes other members of the Harvard Community. All interested singers are welcome to join us. Informal auditions are held during the week following the first rehearsal.

SCHEDULE FOR FALL 2004

Rehearsals: Tuesday evenings, 7:15-9:00 in the Common Room. First rehearsal is TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21.

Concert: This year's fall concert will be on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3rd at 8:00 PM in PAINE HALL

Repertoire may include music by Josquin Desprez, Barbara Strozzi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, ... and Contemporary music

 THE DUDLEY CONSORT

The Dudley Consort is a vocal chamber ensemble specializing in Medieval and Renaissance music. The Consort is a flexible ensemble that ranges in size from 4 to 16 voices. Repertoire has included works from the Montpellier Codex as well as music by Josquin, Lassus, Tallis, Byrd, Purcell, and Schuetz. The Consort works as a collective, drawing on the experience and talent of its members. Singers with a strong choral background and superior sight reading skills are encouraged to contact Richard Giarusso for more information.
