The larger body of work from which my submission is extracted, Nutritional Feed, will be published in October 2005 by Tupelo Press. The poems for this project are ekphrastic (based on the work of painter David Lukowski) and address the theme of “infinity” in terms of a notion of infinite vision and infinite possibility. “optometrist” is an eye chart poem which examines the notion of how we see and experience the world. “where’s my jacket” draws from abstraction and the tradition of the figure in Western painting.
