Information about Dudley's Spring 2005 Production, Sweet Bird of Youth
Dudley Drama and Film provides a community for Dudley members interested in theater and film production. We host guest speakers from film and drama groups, take trips to local theater productions, provide screening / staging space for members to show their films or present staged readings, and typically produce one to two dramatic productions each year. Recent productions include Chekov's Three Sisters, Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues, and Steve Martin's Picasso at the Lapin Agile.
In addition, we sponsor a series of lectures and workshops to help members write, shoot, and edit their own digital short films. A digital camcorder and dedicated computer editing workstation is available for member use, and we encourage collaboration between Dudley members as well as participation from novice filmmakers. In the past, films created during the academic year have been screened at a spring film festival at Dudley; past films produced in the Dudley Film program have gone on to venues citywide and nationwide, including the Boston Museum of Fine Art, FilmFest New Haven, the Hawaii International Film Festival, Woods Hole Film Festival, and the New York Independent Film Festival.
